Longitude
The lines running vertically around the Earth are called longitude. These lines are called meridians, and measure how far east or west an object is. These lines of longitude are measured using angles. When measuring how far east or west an object is, it is important to start at the Prime Meridian which is an imaginary line just like the equator. The Prime Meridian runs through Greenwich in England.
